The New Indygo Junction patterns have arrived....

The new patterns that I ordered when I was at market have arrived.  There are craft items, bag patterns, and clothing patterns for adults and children.  Here are some highlights:

Let's start with the Chic Cowl Neck Shift pattern by Mary Ann Donze Design for Indygo Junction.  This can be made as a tunic or a dress, with sleeves or without.  Sizes: XS - 2XL.  Approximate finished bust measurements: XS - 38 1/2", S - 40", M -42", L -44", XL -46", 2XL - 48".

Next, is the Day to Night Dress pattern by Mary Ann Donze for Indygo Junction.  this dress has a vintage feel but very modern with the exposed zipper.  S - 2XL. Approximate finished bust measurements: S - 38 1/2", M - 40", L -42", XL -44", 2XL -46".

Finally, we have the Ideal Duffle pattern by Indygo Junction.  This pattern is so cute using the recycled denim jeans.  Size:  Approximately 8" high x 18 1/2"long x 7 1/2" deep, excluding the handles.

I'll show more items over the next few days.

Thoughts of Christmas....

Well it's July and Christmas will be here before we know it.  Have you thought about gifts that you would like to make?  the gifts you want to purchase? or given it any thought at all?  Unfortunately, I'm in the later category with my own gifts.  However if I'm going to make anything, I need to start now.  The gifts to my family will need to be ready before Thanksgiving this year.

I've put together a couple of gift ideas for eReader wraps using:

The Reader Wrap pattern by Atkinson Designs.  This pattern will fit e-Readers that are 5 1/2" x 8" or smaller such as the Nook or Kindle.  For the first kit, I used both the Reader Wrap pattern and the Cash and Carry pattern.  Use leftovers to create the Cash and Carry bag with the cables.  For the second kit, I used the Reader Wrap pattern.  Both kits contain everything you need to create the create the wrap except for the closure.  The pattern has two options for the closure.  The d-ring option is available for an additional charge.  Here's the fabric - black and cream - that has been chosen for the first round of kits:

More fabric options are coming.  Some kits will include the pattern and some will not.  If you're interested in creating your own fabric combination for a kit with or without the pattern, let me know.

Another look for fall....

Here's a look that is for the office (or so they say):

I love the overall look of this outfit by Milly.

Let's start with the jacket - The Colleen Peplum Jacket.  It is made out of cotton/spandex corduroy with a toggle at the waist.  The peplum hits below the hip.  The only thing I'm not too sure about it the hook & eye closure down the front.  I was unable to find a pattern exactly like this.  However, I did find Simplicity 2703 has a jacket with a similar feel (no hook & closure) with a label.  Corduroy is not listed as a recommended fabric.  Price tag on the Milly jacket - $395.00.

Now for the skirt - Deanna A-line Tweed Skirt.  It is made out of wool tweed blend, sits at the natural waist, has side pockets, and is knee length.  I think you could get a similar look using Joyce's Almost Bias Skirt pattern by Silhouettes, Amy's Skirt pattern by Silhouettes (I do not have this in stock but can order), (I realized that neither one of the Silhouettes skirt pattern will work with a wool tweed.) some of the Serendipity skirt patterns may work also.  The price tag on the Milly tweed skirt is $250.00.

Be sure to zoom in and check this outfit out.  There are lots of details that can easily be duplicated.

Thoughts for school....

Shhh..don't tell the kids but school is just around the corner. Have you given any thought to school wardrobes? Here's a cute little skirt for girls:

Here's the Girly Gore Skirt pattern by Indygo Junction.   Size 2 to 10.  How's this for a swirly girl?  The skirt can be done in denim with exposed seams (see skirt on left), solid colors, or go bohemian with multiple prints.

Is it too early too think about jackets?

What do you think?  Too early.  I don't think so.  Fall jackets / vests / cardigans are showing up in the stores.  So, we should be thinking about getting them made.  Check out all the eye candy at Neiman Marcus under jackets.  Prices start at about $300.00.

Let's start with Upline Jacket pattern by Sewn ...square one for your style.  Isn't this a great looking jacket?  It is in my pattern stash.  Hopefully, it will be used pattern by fall.  I just need to decide if that wool in the fabric stash has aged long enough or it I want something new.  Note that there are three views.  So, get creative and get the sizing right with one and make more than one.  How great is that?  Suggested fabrics are:  medium to heavy weight cottons (maybe the 9-10oz duck/canvas in the eBay store),  medium weight wools, heavy linens, denim, weighty blends.    The short jacket (view 3) requires a 22" reversible separating zipper.  These zippers can be special ordered from me in white, black, and navy with brass teeth.  More colors are available in the a regular 22" separating zipper.

Next, let's look at the Santa Monica jacket pattern by Lila Tueller Designs. This jacket pattern has two versions and a cap.  Fabric recommendations are twill, poplin, corduroy, or home dec weight fabrics.  Quilting weight cottons can be used if they are backed with Pellon Shape-Flex.  I do currently have a twill weight fabric in the eBay store.  It is the 6 oz striped ticking from James Thompson.  I do have some solid colors on order.  Again, I can order the 18" or the 22" sport-weight zipper.  They are available in a variety of colors.

Final item for today is the Cool Cardigan-Draped Front pattern by Pamela's Patterns. This is a knits only pattern.  You can never have too cardigans.  This could be made from a great basic knit to go with everything (this is what I'm doing) or make many.  Let's face it once you get the fit correct, we should make more than one of item.  Change the fabric, add embellishments to make it different.  This pattern has three different sleeve lengths and separate pattern pieces for the A/B cup and C/D cup.  Another suggestion is to make a set using a tank top or sleeveless top (Pamela's got those available too).

Hope your inspired to make a jacket or several.
