Fall Jackets.....

Everyone needs a great jacket. Check out the Double-Knit Jacket by 7 For All Mankind. This is a great casual jacket. It's made from a rayon/nylon/spandex knit with a shawl collar. Price tag: $245.00.

You could create a similar look using the Milano Jacket pattern by Loes Hinse Design and a really nice knit. The Milano Jacket doesn't have the welt pockets but they are fairly easy to add.

100 days till Christmas...

Wow! Just 100 days left till Christmas. I need to get started on my list for this year or I won't make it. This week's ideas will be just for kids:

This is a cute blankie for kids. It's the Snuggables Animal Blankets and Ball pattern by Cotton Ginnys. The blankie in this pattern measures 21" wide x 25" long. The animals included are a hippo, a bear, and an elephant. The ball measures 8". This would make a great gift for the young child in your life. Actually, it would make a great gift for any child.

The Bedy Bye Dolly pattern by Bananafana. This is the perfect pattern for creating a baby bassinet and blankie. The blankie size is 20" x 20" and the bassinet size is 15" long x 10 1/2" tall x 8" wide. Perfect accessory for a special little doll.

Let's not forget about little boys (or girls) with a Child's Teepee & Sleeping bag pattern by Maw-Bell. This pattern includes a teepee which is 60" high x 40" square, a sleeping bag which is 30" wide by 65" long, and a stuff sack. This would be lots of fun to set-up in the corner of their bedroom, the playroom, or even outside.

This is a small selection of fun items for kids. Make memories for the children in your life. Make them something special.

Fall Inspiration

Fall is my favorite time of the year and I just love the fall clothes. Here's a cute little dress:

Here's the Printed Draw-String Waist Dress by Indikka. It is a paisley printed silk twill with an a-line skirt, draw-string waist, spread collar, and button front. Price tag: $225. 00. A wonderful look. I do like the boots, too. Hope you like this nice, casual look.

114 days till Christmas....

We are 11 days closer to Christmas. Time is certainly flying. How are you doing with you list of items? I would love to hear about it. My sewing hasn't begun yet but maybe I'll have some time after school starts next week. This week's gift ideas are little bags. Doesn't everyone need a bag to carry items in?

Let's start with the Stash and Dash bags pattern by Amy Butler. This pattern has instructions for three sizes of bags: toiletry bag, makeup bag, and and coin purse. With the right fabrics the large bag could also be a clutch.

Take-along Bags pattern by Lazy Girl Designs. This pattern has two bags included. One is a zippered bag with inside pockets and the other is a drawstring bag.

Sweet Stuff bag pattern by This & That. This is a sweet little zippered bag that is just perfect to use up small pieces of fabric.

There are many more patterns in the store that are just little bags. Use the eBay link to the right to get to the eBay store. Also, there is fabric in the store now and I would be happy to create fabric kits to go along with the patterns.

Fall 2010 Trends...

...I was looking at the Fall trend list to see if there was anything of particular interest. Here are three items that seem to appear in many places. The number one item seems to be jeggings. Have you seen these? What could be better than legging that look like jeans. I found a pair last week at a local store and was tempted for a minute. Then, I decided that this was best left for the younger crowd. Not that I may revisit the thought at a later date. Second seems to be vests or a drapey sweater jacket. I always liked vests. Personally, I have been eyeing the Indydo Junction pattern. Third is color or maybe lack there of -- gray. This is everywhere. Yes, I like gray because it goes with everything and is much softer than the standard black. Hope you're inspired to check your closet, make a list of new items needed (or wanted) , and then check the pattern and fabric stash. Have fun!
