More Pre-fall inspiration

I seem to be inspirated by Pre-fall right now.

Here's the Pleated Neck Dress by Armani Collezioni. This is made from a cotton/silk faille. You'll need to zoom in to see the neckline detail of pleating. Very interesting detail. Also, notice how fitted the dress it. Price: $795.00.







Second, is the Wool-Cashmere Standup-Lapel Coat, & Skinny Jeans by Stella McCartney. Check out the length on the jacket. It reminds me of the "Boyfriend" jacket. Jacket is made from a wool/cashmere blend. Price tag: $1595.00. Love the look of this outfit.






Here'a a rather traditional trench. the Boucle Trench Coat by Burberry London. It is made from a cotton/wool/nylon blend and is double-breasted. Price tag: $1295.00.

I would love to make my own coat for fall. However, I'm not sure about all of the interlinings required to make a nice coat. It seem like there was a coat sew along last. I think I will read through it and get some information.

More summer inspiration:

Here's the Jill Carnation Dress. This is a very simple silhouette with embroidery around the "V" neckline, down the front, and on the upper back. Don't forget the shirring under the bust. Only $175.00.

The New York Dress pattern by Loes Hinse Design would be a good jumping off point for making a similar dress to the Jill Carnation Dress.




Sequined Linen Jersey Shell by Eileen Fisher. Another very simple silhouette. It is all in the details - sequins. Really zoom in and check it out. This detail could be added to any simple top or dress. Price: $138.00.

The Tank Dress Group pattern by Loes Hinse Design would make a great jumping off point to recreate the look of this shell.

The Pattern Loft has a new home

I've been waiting to make the announcement. I have moved from my home office to an office/shop location about a mile from my home. I'm so excited about my new location. I seems very big to me. I have a show room, a work room, and an office. There isn't a lot of parking at my location. However, there is a very large parking lot next door that we are allowed to use. I'm slowly filling the showroom with fabric and notions. The workroom has a large cutting table that can be used as a space for cutting out. I have put the address and phone in the about me box on the right.

Early Fall Inspiration, more sales

Those early fall collections are arriving. Here's a little inspiration for the fall:

The Brodie Plaid Dress by Marc Jacobs. A little 60s styled dress in olive/teal plaid with a little ruffle around the neck and slit pockets. Fabric is a silk/wool blend. Price Tag: $458.00. Use the link to zoom in and look at the details.

Of course a summery fabric would work in this style also.

I think you could get a similar look using the Sabrina Tunic pattern by Serendipity Studios. You would need to measure the neckline and multiple by 1 1/4 or 1 1/2 to create the ruffle.

This week sale is Loes Hinse Designs patterns, Indygo Junction patterns, Bananfana patterns, Artful Offering patterns, and the Nicey Jane fabric collection are all 5% off through May 31, 2010.

There's a sale going on....

If you haven't been to the eBay store lately, there is a sale going on. The Petersham ribbon and buttons are 10% off. Vanilla House Designs patterns and Paradiso Designs patterns are 5% off.

It's skirt weather...

I enjoy wearing skirts in spring and summer. Today, fabric.com has stretch cotton sateen in beautiful spring/summer prints. Just perfect for skirts. The Joyce's Almost Bias Skirt pattern would be wonderful in this fabric.

As I'm looking, most of the skirts by Serendipity Studios would look good made up in this fabric, too.

Totes, Bags, and Purses....

I have found some wonderful inspiration for bags. Check out the bags by Nancy Gonzalez. Not only that you can make similar looks yourself. Did you know that Fabric.com is having a special this weekend on their faux leather? Check out clutch patterns, tote patterns, and hobo bag patterns that I have in the eBay store. I'm considering a tulip bag in a faux leather. I've been seeing a lot of this style in the windows at the mall.
