Christmas is .....

68 days away.  Where has the time gone?  How are your projects coming along?  Mine are moving along very slowly.  I actually have about 45 days left for any creations.

Here's some little gift ideas:

How about these Adorable Autos?  This pattern is from Sweetbriar.  Make one or all three.  Keep those imaginations going?

How about this cute pillow pattern from Country Appliques?  For the older child, the Goodnight Cars Pillow pattern.  Cars fit in the garage and there is an additional storage pocket on the back.

How about a sleeping bag for the doll(s)?  This is the Slumber Party sleeping bag pattern by Atkinson Designs.  With 4 sizes to choose from, you should be able to find the right one.

This one takes a little more effort to create.  Dolls On The Go pattern by Sisters' Common Thread is create for the little person who likes to take their doll with them.  There is storage for the doll and accessories.

Christmas is Coming...

Did you know there is 106 days till Christmas?  Christmas always seems like a long way off but isn't.  Personally, I need to have gifts ready by the first of December so they can be mailed to far away family members.  This subtracts 20 to 25 days off the days till Christmas.  How soon do you need to have gifts ready?

Here's a few decorating ideas:

These fabrics are perfect for table clothes.  The border runs on both selvages.  Fabric is approximately 58" wide.  Click on Holiday Home to visit this fabric collection.

How about these cute little Pot Holders?  Make some for gifts and for your own kitchen.  Click on Christmas Trio of Pot Holders to visit the pattern description.

How about a new table runner?  This is Peace Table Runner pattern by Cottage Creek Quilts.  Click on the pattern name to see the description.

Totes and more….

Totes bags are wonderful for everyday use. When I worked in the city, my tote was filled to the brim with shoes, lunch, my purse, and things to do while I was traveling back and forth. Here’s a few totes to think about:

This is the Miranda Day Bag pattern by Lazy Girl Designs. This is a moderately sized tote bag with 10 pockets for organization. Size is 12" x 10" x 6".

This is the Sara Satchel pattern by Serendipity Studio. This tote bag comes in two sizes and includes instructions for organizers and a small zippered bag. Sizes are Tall Satchel: 14" high x 15" (at the base) wide x 6" deep, 14" high x 12" (at the top) wide x 6" deep, Short Satchel: 11" high x 18" (at the base) wide x 6" deep, 11" wide by 15" (at the top) wide x 6" deep.

This is the Bellanca Bag pattern by Lila Tueller Designs. Finished size is approximately 12" high x 15" wide x 5" deep.

This is the Brooke Bag by Bananafana. This is a large, roomy bag with an approximate finished size of 23" tall x 19 1/2" wide x 5" deep.

How about making some matching accessories for your tote bag?

This is a e-Cozy Palooza pattern by Whistlepig Creek.  This is perfect for a personalized cover for your reader.

This is the Zippy Strippy bag pattern by Atkinson Designs. Great to keep things organized.

Hope your inspired to make a tote!

Are you ready? 104 days till Christmas....

Have you checked your list?  Do you know what you are going to make verses what you are going to buy?  Here's a couple of ideas:

Here's a great pattern for someone who likes to keep their bag organized.  This is the Portapockets Purse Insert pattern by StudiKat Designs.  This pattern includes two sizes of the insert:  Two sizes - Small: 6"h x 8"w x 2.5", and  Large: 6"h x 10.5"w x 2.5 .

The Pockets to Go pattern by Atkinson Designs is a great organizational item for the craft area or the car.

How about pouches in different sizes to help out with organizational needs?  This is the Perfect Pouches pattern by Lazy Girl Designs. The sizes are Small - 5" x 7", Medium - 7" x 10", and Large - 9" x 13".    I can see this made up as small laundry bags, too.  Just toss them in the wash.

One last item.  There is a sale on the Indygo Junction patterns through September 15, 2012.

This is the Reader Wrap pattern by Atkinson Designs. Finished size: 6" wide x 8 1'2" high x 1" deep.   If you're interested in a kit, let me know.

Interested in adding a little bit of Sparkle to your embroidery?  Below are the 7 colors of the Cosmo Sparkles:

Currently, I'm selling the Cosmo Sparkles collection which is one skein of each at Etsy or you can purchase individual Sparkle skeins at eBay. The colors are white or silver, champagne or gold, blue, pink, rose, coral, and black. Sparkles is 67% polyester and 33% nylon.   I also carry the John James embroidery needles in sizes 7, 8, and 9.  Just ask for a custom listing at either eBay or Etsy if you would like the items combined.

Thoughts of Christmas....

Well it's July and Christmas will be here before we know it.  Have you thought about gifts that you would like to make?  the gifts you want to purchase? or given it any thought at all?  Unfortunately, I'm in the later category with my own gifts.  However if I'm going to make anything, I need to start now.  The gifts to my family will need to be ready before Thanksgiving this year.

I've put together a couple of gift ideas for eReader wraps using:

The Reader Wrap pattern by Atkinson Designs.  This pattern will fit e-Readers that are 5 1/2" x 8" or smaller such as the Nook or Kindle.  For the first kit, I used both the Reader Wrap pattern and the Cash and Carry pattern.  Use leftovers to create the Cash and Carry bag with the cables.  For the second kit, I used the Reader Wrap pattern.  Both kits contain everything you need to create the create the wrap except for the closure.  The pattern has two options for the closure.  The d-ring option is available for an additional charge.  Here's the fabric - black and cream - that has been chosen for the first round of kits:

More fabric options are coming.  Some kits will include the pattern and some will not.  If you're interested in creating your own fabric combination for a kit with or without the pattern, let me know.
