Inspiration - Casual Elegance

How's this for an elegant casual outfit? The skirt retails for about $100.00. It's made from a crinkle cotton. This looks would be very easy to duplicate using full version of Pamela's Favorite Bias Skirt pattern by Pamela's Patterns or perhaps a slightly difference look with the Gore Skirt pattern by Loes Hinse Design.

Recreating the tank top would be easy using the View E top in the Tank Dress Group pattern by Loes Hinse Design. A little less fitted look could be accomplished by using either View C or View D from the same pattern. This is a very versatile pattern.

Inspiration - Long Cardigan

Look at this wonderful cashmere cardigan by Diane von Furstenburg. Details: V-neck, button-front, patch pockets, and matching tie belt. Price tag: $385.00

Interested in duplicating the look? Try the Loes Hinse Design
Sweater Coat pattern. Adjust the length and use the v-neck version. Pretty close.

For those, who may be interested in the dress. It is silk, shirt dress style with ruffles down the front. It is also by Diane von Furstenburg. Price tag: $365.00

Inspirations - Spring Ruffles Part 3

Here's a very nice dress with a ruffled collar:

I really like the look of this double-ruffled collar on the dress by Dior. The dress is made of silk with the ruffled belt that ties with a bow in front. Price tag: $2590.00

You could get a similar look with Amy Butler's Anna Tunic pattern. The ruffles wouldn't be that hard to create. You would have to play a little bit but it would be lots of fun to figure out.

Inspiration - Spring Ruffles Part 2

Another bag for inspiration:

Isn't this Burberry bag lovely? Again, we have a hobo style bag in leather with vertical ruched ribbon. Price tag: $2195.00. Either of the pattern mentioned in yesterday post could be used to recreate this look. The handle on this bag is also interesting.

Inspiration Returns - Spring Ruffles

Have you noticed the ruffles for spring? Here's a great bag to start with:

This lovely Rouches Ruffled Hobo by Valentino. It's made with leather and the color choices are brown and red. It has leather strap with silver-toned o rings. Price tag - only $1695.00.

Interested in duplicating the look? See below.

Indygo Junction's Serged Satchel pattern will give you a similar look and just think of how many bags you can make for the difference in price. Look for a bag with the same hobo styling. How about another Indygo Junction pattern?

Indygo Junction's Wave on Wave shoulder bag pattern has a similar bag shape. Use the bag shape and add your own ruffles. This would be great exercise in using the ruffler foot.

That's it for today.
