Inspiration continues

Yes, the inspiration continues. I love looking at clothing. I don't particular like the prices.

Here's the lawson embroidered striped skirt by Kate Spade.  This skirt is a high-waisted, cotton a-line with an exposed zipper and self-lining.  Price tag:  $275.00.  What's special about this skirt?  I like the embroidery and the exposed zipper is trendy.

Today's pick doesn't have the exact same silhouette but the Barcelona Skirt pattern by Amy Butler is an a-line skirt with a back zipper.  Why not change out the invisible zipper for the exposed zipper and shorten the skirt to knee length?  Need instructions for the exposed zipper.  I have added a link to an exposed zipper tutorial on facebook in the discussions section for tutorials.

Inspiration

Today's inspiration is from Elie Tahara:

Here's the Rachelle Printed Skirt. This skirt is made from a floral print, cotton/spandex stretch sateen. It has a natural waistband, side slash pockets, and a box pleat a-line silhouette. Dry clean only. Price tag: $298.00.

I wonder how many skirts could be made from various floral printed sateen for that price. Anyone want to guess?

Here's some alternatives for the pattern:

Let's start with the Study Hall Skirt pattern by Anna Maria.  This skirt has four box pleats - two in the front and two in the back.  This silhouette is very close the inspiration picture.

Next, we have the Proper Attire Skirt pattern by Anna Maria. The silhouette is a little bit different from the inspiration picture but you still get the pleats if you choose.

More Buttons & Bees...

Here's the remaining Buttons and Bees patterns:

Fishbowl Friends and Pillow pattern with the quilt finished size being approximately 33" x 34" and the pillow finished size being approximately 23" x 10".

This is the Night Owl Quilt pattern with a finished size approximately 48" x 49". Additional projects are two pincushions. I just love the owls, with the fireflies and the possums are just adorable.

Here's the Big Dog Little Dog quilt pattern with the finished size approximately 30" x 55". Additional projects are two little purses.

There is something for everyone in this little collection.  The booklets are very nice and in color.

One of the new pattern companies..

While at Market, I did purchase from a couple of new pattern companies.  Over the next couple of days, I will be showcasing patterns from Buttons and Bees.

Above, is the Live Simply Quilt pattern.  This quilt is approximately 40" x 52".  This pattern assumes that you are familar with applique and does not provide specific methods.  However, it does give information to go to their website for the applique method that they use.

Here's the Love is Patient quilt pattern. It is a "scrappy" sort of quilt. It is considered a intermediate level quilt. Familiarity with paper piecing and applique is helpful.

Home from the Quilt Market....

I'm home from the Quilt Market and all caught up with orders.

The Quilt Market was in Salt Lake City this year and was very exciting.  It was my first time seeing this part of Utah. The mountains still had snow on them and it was such a beautiful sight.  It is so much fun to see all the new products and talk to the designers.  Yes, I did bring home new patterns and more should be showing up in the next couple of weeks.  I'll try to start getting new items up in the next couple of days and post pictures as well.
