Shop Talk - Here's the gift bag pattern

Here's the gift bag pattern that I recently found:

Its the Bosa Nova Bags by Cedar Canyon. This is the perfect gift bag for those who are trying to be green with their gift giving. This sewing pattern includes directions for 3 different sizes of bags and information for creating your own custom size bags. The bags require between a 1/2 and 5/8 yard of fabric for the bag cover and ties, 1/2 yard for lining, Steam a Seam 2 (18" wide) - 1/2 yard to 1 yard, tabs - either Lazy Girl Design Handy Tabs (2 to 3 packages) or 3/4" ribbon (3/4 yard to 1 yard) and fray check.

I do carry the Lazy Girl Handy Tabs in all the colors. Use the link at the right and go to embellishments or do a search. If you need more of any color than I have in stock, let me know and I will be happy to do a special order.

I also carry the 3/4" Petersham ribbon in rayon and a few colors. I will double-check to make sure that all the colors are listed.

Inspiration

Once again I'm looking around the Neiman Marcus site and found this two items in the Black Halo collection:
Here's the Key Pencil Skirt. I really like the color of this skirt. It has a very high waisted skirt. The detail loks like it is at the waistline. Be sure to zoom in and check out this skirt. The detail is wonderful but the hemline is horrible.

I really like the way this blouse looks. The neckline is great. I would think that this particular top would be very easy to duplicate. Imagine the possibilities with being able to change the scarf at the neckline. Here's the link so you can zoom in: Andrea Tie Neck Silk Blouse.

Shop Talk

I have received many new patterns and they will be added to the eBay store over the next couple days. There are many Christmas patterns, pin cushion patterns, apron patterns, and purse patterns. Visit often or sign up for the store newsletter to hear about "What's New".

Children are such happy recipients of the items that are made. I thought I would point out a couple of the Vanilla House Design patterns that would make really great gifts or items for your local charity.

Here's the Hats, Mittens, and Kids! pattern by Vanilla House Designs. This pattern is for fleece wear for kids sizes 3 to 6. Here's the link to the pattern: Hats, Mittens, and Kids!.

This is the Warm Hands pattern by Vanilla House Designs. This pattern is for a muff. Great for keeping your hands warm at the ball game or for a walk. Here's the link to the pattern: Warm Hands.

These patterns take very little fleece to create. Main fabric for either is a 1/4 yard.

Freebie and Shop Talk

Studio Kat has a new freebie bag pattern. It's the Rug Bucket. A good idea for a quick bag or a gift. If you're looking for the bag handles or the vinyl for the tab, both are located in the store. There are 13" and 27" purse straps and matching vinyl in the embellishments. Lookie for different colors or stap lengths? Ask, I will do special orders.

Enjoy the freebie!

Inspiration and Shop Talk

Today, I was looking around on the Neiman Marcus website and came across great jacket. Described as leather jacket with stand up collar, hidden front closure, long sleeves and smocked detail on collar and chest. It's approximately $10,000. Here's the link so you can zoom in and check it out for yourself: Valentino Smocked Leather jacket. Isn't the detail great? I really like the look of smocking.

The Confident Jacket pattern by Indygo Junction could be a good jumping off point for a jacket similar to the Valentino jacket.

Inspiration for Fall

I was looking at the Theory tops collection at Neiman Marcus today. I found lots of interesting items. There were pleating at the neckline, little puffs sleeves, big feminine bows, and cowl necked tops. The fabrics were rayon, wool, cotton, polyester, etc.

The first top of interest is the red cowl-neck top. It is described as scoop neck cowl, ruched front, and long sleeved. Very cute. There is also a similar top in black. The fabric is rayon/spandex and it sells for $95.00. I will say that I call the area that is being referred to as "ruched" gathered. So, I will be checking up on my sewing terms. I must be getting rusty.

The second top of interest is the tie-neck top. It is described as a tie detail at bateau neckline and long sleeves with banded cuffs. I think that this would be fairly easy to add to a top. The fabric is wool / polyester and the top sells for $235.00.

Hope your inspired to create something beautiful.
