Inspiration & Shop Talk - Fall Wraps

Today, I was looking around at the Big 4 websites and came across an interesting wrap at the Butterick site: Retro Wrap. Looks like it would be easy to recreate. You will need to register for email to get this.

If this isn't the type of wrap that you're interested in, perhaps one of the following items in The Pattern Loft shop will be of interest:

1. Pamela's Poncho pattern by Pamela's Patterns.

2. Pamela' Poncho for Kids pattern by Pamela's Patterns.

3. Zoannes Cape/Coat a Silhouettes pattern by Peggy Sagers.

Inspiration & Shop Talk

Today, I was looking at the fashions for me at the MyShape website. This jacket caught my eye - Obstinee - Long-Sleeve Jacket with Flower Detail . I thought that this was an embroidered fabric until I zoomed in. It is a very artsy jacket. All of the bias tape and the embroidery really make this a beautiful jacket. The floral detail is really pretty. Go look at this jacket and think about how you could apply this type of detail to something that you are sewing. I know I will be adding this to my list.

Here's a couple of jackets to think about:

1. The Confident Jacket by Indygo Junction would be a good jumping off point for this type of jacket. Add a zipper and a little bit of shaping.

2. The Zippered Jacket by Loes Hinse would also make a good start for this type of jacket. It has a different neckline than the Obstinee jacket but I think that it would would for creating this type of a look.

Inspiration - St. John's Whipped Stitch top

Today, I found this whipped stitched top at Neiman Marcus. What a simple idea for changing the look of a top / outfit. There are grommets attached around the neckline with a scarf threaded through then tied in a bow. How easy is that? You could also create this look for much less than the asking price? Here's a link to the top so you can zoom in and check out the details - St John's Whipped Stitch top. With all the money that you're saving by making a similar top, why not make a pair of Loes Hinse's Oxford pants. to complete the outfit.
