Here's the Jolly Holidays pattern by Susie C Shores Design. This pattern includes a 20" x 6" banner and 3" ornaments. Isn't it cute? It's suitable for beginners. This would be a great pattern to get the kids involved.

Here's a stocking stuffer idea. Havel's Snip-Eze Scissors. These scissors are 4 3/4" long with a curved blade. Absolutely wonderful to keep next to the sewing machine for snipping threads or next to the embroidery machine for trimming.
For someone who enjoys making pillows, the Pillow corner template would be a wonderful new tool. This template helps prevent the "dog-earred" look on pillows.
